Maryland secured a commitment from 2021 tight end/H-back Joey Bearns (St. Frances/Baltimore, Md.) Feb. 5, and afterwards we spoke to SFA recruiting coordinator and assistant Messay Hailemariam about the 6-foot-2, 245-pounder:

Terrapin Times: Coach, to be honest, we didn’t know a whole lot about Bearns. I’d watched St. Frances play, but didn’t take notice of him.
