South Carolina RB Richardson Commits To Maryland

Maryland picked up its 22nd class of 2027 commitment and its third running back pledge this cycle in Sumter (S.C.) three-star athlete Franklin Richardson. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder has held a UMD offer since the spring, officially visited in the summer, and then gave Coach Mike Locksley his word Sept. 25.

Richardson, who plays quarterback for Sumter but projects as a running back, developed a rapport with running backs coach Andre Powell.
