2022 Football Recruiting Hot Board: Cornerbacks

Here is an initial look at some of Maryland’s class of 2022 cornerback targets:

LIONELL WHITAKER (James Rickards/Tallahassee, Fla.)

Temperature: COMMITTED

Skinny: The 6-0, 185-pound three-star Whitaker committed to Maryland on Jan. 4, 2021. He had a rapport with Brawley Evans, believed he’d fit in well in UMD’s defense, and heard good things about the Terps from his friend Darrell Jackson, who was a 2020 UMD signee. Whitaker said he chose Maryland over Tennessee.
