Boston College sophomore forward Jairus Hamilton entered his name in the transfer portal in mid-March, and less than two weeks later the 6-foot-8, 235-pounder found a new home. The Charlotte, N.C., native elected to head to Maryland after hearing from Coach Mark Turgeon almost immediately after he entered the portal.

Turgeon, and former UMD assistant Kevin Broadus, pursued Hamilton back in 2017 and 2018, when Hamilton was a top 100 four-star recruit out of Cannon School (Concord, N.C.).
