CB Barnes Lands Terps Offer, Then Lauds UMD After Visit

Maryland offered local cornerback Ryan Barnes on the first day of the open period Jan. 17, and a day later he was in College Park, Md., for a formal visit.

The 6-2, 175-pounder had previous looks from Duke, Tennessee, Va Tech, Pitt and ECU, but the hometown offer hit home. Barnes said it was a look he was waiting for and he loved his latest stay at UMD.
