The Terps added their fourth safety commit and sixth defensive back pledge in the 2020 class Dec. 16. Two weeks after visiting College Park, Md., former Wilde Lake (Columbia, Md.) four-star Osita Smith, who originally signed with West Virginia in the 2019 class, announced his intentions to attend Maryland.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Smith was someone the former Maryland regime pursued in the last recruiting cycle, but who turned UMD down in favor of his most ardent suitor, WVU.
