JUCO DE Butler Has Connection To Maryland

The Terps have been scanning the junior-college ranks for offensive and defensive linemen, and their most recent offer went out to Independence C.C. (Independence, Kans.) defensive end Deandre “Dre” Butler. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder, who has four years to play three seasons, has had a standout first few games this fall, and college recruiters have taken notice. He now has looks from UMD, Nebraska, Colorado, Arizona, Texas Tech, Oregon State and several others.
