Coach Speak: Ryan Patterson On Tre Smith

The Terps landed a commitment from Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, Md.) three-star defensive tackle Tre Smith Sept. 18. Afterwards, we spoke to his head coach, Ryan Patterson, to gain more insight into the 6-foot-3, 290-pounder:

Terrapin Times: Coach, I know Western Maryland doesn’t produce a lot of Division I, power-five recruits. I believe Ty Johnson may have actually been the last one that went to the power-five level, and that was a few years ago now.
