Terps' Diligence Pays Off As 5-Star C Queen Commits

Maryland began recruiting five-star center Derik Queen before the Baltimore native’s freshman season at St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.). The Terps, then under the direction of Mark Turgeon, became the very first program to offer Queen a scholarship, and the two sides engaged in a four-year long courtship that finally came to an end Feb. 21, 2024.
