Maryland secured four-star shooting guard Malachi Palmer (Mount Zion Prep/Lanham, Md.) Jan. 1. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder discussed why he chose the Terps:

Terrapin Times: Malachi, I know this was a long process for you. You had a lot of suitors, took a lot of visits, didn’t sign in the early period this year, and finally decided on Maryland Jan. 1. What are your thoughts now that the process is over?

Malachi Palmer: I’m supper excited and I can’t wait to get on campus.
