Maryland secured a commitment from four-star combo guard DeShawn Harris-Smith (Paul VI/Fairfax, Va.) Aug. 24, and afterwards we spoke to his coach, Glenn Farello, to gain more insight into the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder:

Terrapin Times: Coach, I don’t think Maryland’s has ever gotten a kid from PVI coach. Were you surprised at all? What are your thoughts?

Glenn Farello: Yeah, they’ve never gotten a kid from PVI as far as I know. Just very happy for DeShawn.
