Maryland men’s basketball landed its second transfer of the day April 3 when Rhode Island senior point guard Fatts Russell elected to head to College Park, Md. The 5-foot-11 Russell, much like the earlier addition of Georgetown center Qudus Wahab, filled a major need on UMD’s roster.

The fleet footed, athletic Russell averaged 14.7 points per game on 33.7 percent shooting, 23.5 percent from 3 and 80 percent from the line. He also dished out 4.5 assists per game against 2.
