C Wahab Transfers To Maryland

Maryland men’s hoops filled a critical need April 3 when Georgetown sophomore center Qudus Wahab elected to transfer to UMD. The 6-foot-11 big man, who prepped at Flint School in Ashburn, Va., averaged 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Hoyas last season.

The Terps lacked an impact big man all of 2020-21, forcing Coach Mark Turgeon to play with a smaller lineup that featured Donta Scott at the “5,” while rotating in Galin Smith for 10 or so minutes a game.
