Maryland Adds Fairfield To Its Schedule

July 9, 2019

Maryland has added another non-conference game to its 2019 schedule, per college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. The Terps will take on Fairfield, which competes in the MAAC and is coming off a 9-22 season, in the Advocare Invitational Tournament Nov. 19. It will be Maryland’s season-opening game.

Eighth-year coach Stanley Johnson was fired following last year’s campaign, and the Stags hired Rutgers assistant Jay Young to take over the program.

Fairfield is led by senior guard Landon Taliaferro, who averaged 12.
