COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Maryland had a chance to build a three-game lead in the Big Ten and perhaps establish itself as a potential No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament, but the Terps fell short in Columbus, Ohio, Feb. 23, 79-72. Although the Buckeyes ended UMD’s (22-5, 12-4 Big Ten) nine-game winning streak, it wasn’t exactly a discouraging effort on the road.
