Former Maryland big man Bruno Fernando made his first NBA Summer League appearance July 7 for the Atlanta Hawks. In a 90-66 loss to the Timberwolves, Fernando scored five points on 2 of 5 from the field. He added seven boards, four blocks, two assists and one turnover in his professional debut.
The second-round pick of the 76ers, who was dealt to Atlanta during the draft, should rotate through with Hawks’ bigs Alex Len and John Collins during the coming season.
