Former Terps wing Jake Layman is set to sign a three-year, $11.5 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a sign-and-trade with the Portland Trailblazers. 

The 6-foot-9 Layman is coming off the best season of his three-year NBA career. In almost 19 minutes a night,  he averaged 7.6 points on 50 percent shooting and 33 percent from 3. He also grabbed 3.1 rebounds per, dropped 0.7 assists per and had 0.4 blocks per in 71 total games.
