Maryland entered the Indiana game top 15 in the country in adjusted defense, per KenPom. The Terps’ ability to lock down in the half court has been a primary reason UMD is 12-2, and it again spurred the team against IU. In effect, Maryland took Indiana out of its game (driving, finishing, drawing contact) for much of the afternoon.
