Stewart, Maryland Part Ways

Maryland and former defensive coordinator Brian Stewart have agreed to mutually part ways. Stewart, who served as the Terps’ DC in 2021, was going to remain on staff as safeties coach following the arrival of Kevin Steele, who spurned UMD for Miami Feb. 1.

Stewart, who was previously at Maryland from 2012-14 as defensive coordinator and secondary coach, led a defense that finished 13th in the Big Ten at 30.7 points allowed per game and 12th at 404 yards allowed per.
