Taking a look at Maryland’s secondary heading into the fall season in late October:
Maryland’s pass defense was lacking in 2019, and while some of the blame lies with the lack of a pass rush, the Terps’ defensive backs had their share of problems. Communication issues, poor ball skills, shoddy tackling, and misreads all plagued a secondary that finished last in the Big Ten last year at 271.3 yards allowed per game and 23 touchdown passes surrendered.
