With Key Returners In Tow , Terps Optimistic Heading Into 2026

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Terps are coming off back-to-back 4-8 seasons and haven’t won a game since Sept. 20, 2025, but there is reason for measured optimism heading into the 2026 campaign. Maryland, which begins its season Sept. 5 against Hampton, returns 71 percent of its total production from last year’s roster, which is second nationally, and 74 percent of its defensive production, which ranks fourth in the country.
