RB/OF Coombs Enters Transfer Portal

Maryland’s running back depth and the baseball team’s starting outfield took a significant hit June 1 as redshirt freshman Bud Coombs elected to enter the transfer portal. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder did not suit up on the gridiron last season due to an undisclosed injury, but he starred on the diamond, hitting .360 with nine home runs, 36 RBI, and a 1.270 OPS in 30 games. He earned Big Ten all-freshman team honors after the campaign.
