Former Sacramento State QB Williams Transfers To Maryland

Redshirt senior quarterback Cardell Williams left Sacramento State after the 2025 season and now will have a chance to compete at the power-four level at Maryland.

Maryland is in need of a competent backup quarterback to sit behind starter Malik Washington. And after no clear candidates emerged during spring practice, the Terps dipped back into the transfer portal for another signal caller to compete with Jackson Hamilton and Kent State transfer Devin Kargman for the No. 2 job.
