Just a week after being named Maryland’s special teams coordinator, assistant Chili Davis will leave the program for the NFL. Davis will accept the role of assistant special teams coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings.

Davis joined Maryland in February 2025 and served as the assistant teams’ coach under Andre Powell. This offseason, though, Powell shifted over to running backs coach, replacing Louis Swaba, and Davis was promoted to special teams coordinator.
