COLLEGE PARK, Md. —  Rumors of the Maryland men’s basketball program’s revival have been greatly exaggerated.

After seemingly turning the corner on a dismal 2025-26 season with back-to-back victories against Minnesota and Iowa, the Terps (10-16, 3-12 Big Ten) have reverted to form, dropping games at fellow bottom feeders Rutgers and Northwestern. In the former bout, UMD’s offense sputtered in a 68-57 loss in Piscataway, N.J.
