COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Well, at least the Terps are out of the cellar.
It’s been a trying season for a Maryland (9-14, 2-10 Big Ten) squad expected to be a fringe NCAA tournament team, but after knocking off Minnesota Feb. 8, UMD is no longer at the bottom of the league. The Terps, who emerged from The Barn with a 67-62 victory, now have two Big Ten victories and are a game ahead of basement-dwellers Oregon and Penn State.
