Maryland Coach Mike Locksley has added a well-known local name to his coaching staff. Former Terps’ offensive lineman Kyle Schmitt, who played at UMD from 2001-2004 and earned all-conference honorable mention, spent the last 13 years turning Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) into an MIAA A-Conference power, and on Jan. 21 he stepped down to become the tight ends coach at his alma mater.
