Maryland’s defensive-line depth took a hit Jan. 7 with rising junior defensive tackle Sedrick Smith electing to enter the transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 321-pounder, who transferred to Maryland from Alabama A&M before the 2025 campaign, saw 121 total snaps over 12 games and tallied seven tackles. He graded out below average in run defense and as a pass rusher and average as a tackler, per Pro Football Focus.
