In an anticipated move, rising junior running back Nolan Ray elected to enter the transfer portal Jan. 1. The 6-foot-1, 212-pounder was Maryland’s lead to begin the 2025 season, but his carries and production tapered off as the year moved along. Ray, who eventually ceded way to No. 2 DeJuan Williams, ran the ball 67 times for 289 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, to go along with 11 reception for 50 yards.
