Maryland returned two key pieces to its lineup in Pharrel Payne and Myles Rice and got the Geico Players Era Championship run started with a 74-67 win against UNLV Nov. 25.
The Terps' (5-1) offense surged in the second half after trailing by three at the break, and Maryland used six 3s in the second half to defeat UNLV (3-3) in the Rebels' home city. Payne scored 20 points to surpass the 1,000-career point mark just five games into his senior season.
