Terps Remain Resilient Following Payne Injury
After Maryland big man Pharrel Payne threw down a dunk to cut the Terps’ deficit to 58-53 with 12:16 to go, he landed awkwardly on Marquette’s Josh Clark. Payne, who seemed to suffer a serious hip injury, was unable to get up and had to be taken off the floor on a stretcher. The extent of Payne’s injury is unknown, but at first blush it looked significant.
