NT Johnson Heads Back Into Transfer Portal

Maryland lost a potential starter at nose tackle April 11 when redshirt sophomore Lavon Johnson elected to enter the transfer portal for a second time. The 6-foot-3, 320-pounder was supposed to step in for Jordan Phillips at nose tackle in 2025, but apparently spring practice this season hasn’t gone as planned and now Johnson will head back into the portal. He originally entered the portal back on Dec. 23, 2024, but backed out a few days later.
