Gapare, Young Enter Transfer Portal

Maryland saw its first two players enter the transfer portal March 31 in the wake of head coach Kevin Willard leaving College Park, Md., for Villanova. First was rising senior forward Tafara Gapare and shortly thereafter backup point guard Jay Young elected to use a post-graduate year at another locale.

The 6-foot-9 Gapare will now head to his fourth different school in four years after spending his first three years at UMass, Georgia Tech and Maryland.
