COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The worry when a team loses a physical, hard-fought game that expends all of its energy is the potential (inevitable?) emotional letdown in the subsequent contest. Maryland (21-7, 11-6 Big Ten) has had several such defeats this season, with each of the Terps’ losses coming by two possessions or less. But none — not even the Northwestern debacle — was more heartbreaking than the buzzer-beating loss against Michigan State Feb. 26.
