COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Riding a four-game winning streak, Maryland had all the momentum heading into Columbus, Ohio, Feb. 6. But thanks to a series of second-half mistakes and a bank-shot prayer from OSU’s Bruce Thornton at the end, all of that positivity came to a screeching halt in a 73-70 loss.
Now, instead of vaulting into the top three in the Big Ten, Maryland (17-6, 7-5 Big Ten) dropped to sixth in the league.
