COLLEGE PARK, Md. — When you’re winning games by 30-plus points and there’s a significant talent gap between you and your opponent, mistakes are masked. Details such as post positioning, going over or under screens, ball rotations, free-throw shooting, etc., are often overlooked, because talent is usually enough to overcome the miscues. But when the talent level is near equal, as it was when Maryland hosted Marquette Nov. 15, what was once minor quickly becomes major.
