4-Star ATH Smith Chooses Hometown Terps

Maryland added another touted local prospect to its 2025 crop July 19 in four-star athlete Zymear Smith (North Caroline/Ridgely, Md.). The 5-foot-10.5, 170-pounder originally committed to Alabama, but he backed out in early July and then opted for the hometown school over Penn State and South Carolina.

Smith, who will likely start as a receiver at UMD but could eventually move to cornerback, has had a keen interest in the Terps since new assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim joined the program.
