After five days in Illinois, Maryland returns to College Park Jan. 21 to host Michigan State (11-7, 3-4). The Spartans haven’t played anywhere near the level they were expected to before the season, although they have improved and the KenPom ratings expect MSU to go on a tear the rest of the way. Per KenPom, Michigan State’s adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies are both above average and they are actually playing more like a top 20 team than a middling one.
