Maryland took its most significant hit of the offseason Dec. 2 when lead tight end Corey Dyches announced he would be entering the transfer portal. The junior pass catcher finished 2023 fourth among FBS tight ends with 49 receptions for 491 yards and two touchdowns. He earned All-Big Ten third team honors after the season.

In 2022, the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors after hauling in 39 passes for 494 yards and three touchdowns.
