S Cooley Enters Transfer Portal

Maryland saw its first transfer departure this year as freshman safety Tamarcus Cooley elected to enter the portal. Cooley appeared in four games in 2023 and tallied four total tackles; he did not dress for the final three games of the regular season.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound Knightdale, N.C., native Cooley was a high three-star recruit in the 2023 class out of Rolesville (N.C.). He procured offers from many regional programs in the ACC and SEC, and a few in the Big Ten as well.
