Martinez Enters Transfer Portal

Maryland basketball took a significant blow May 11 with rising senior guard Ian Martinez electing to enter the transfer portal right before it closed. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder, who transferred to UMD from Utah two years ago, was a valuable sixth man last season and likely would have been cast in a similar role in 2023-24. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Martinez proved to be Maryland’s most athletic player and arguably its best all-around defender in 2022-23.
