COLLEGE PARK, Md. — At the outset of the 2022 campaign, the three-game stretch from Nov. 5-19 was viewed as a season-defining stretch that would give Maryland a good idea where it sat in the Big Ten hierarchy. The Terps didn’t necessarily need to defeat Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State, but if they remained highly competitive and perhaps sprung one upset, it would represent significant progress for head coach Mike Locksley’s program.
