Ezekiel Avit (Churchill/Potomac, Md.) was basically bound for Maryland as soon as receivers’ coach Gunter Brewer extended a scholarship offer following a standout June 24 camp performance. In the immediate aftermath, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound wideout said it was practically inevitable that he’d wind up at the hometown school, which was the lone program to offer him. He delayed his commitment, however, until Oct. 1, when he attended Maryland’s game against Michigan State.
