Terps Insist They'll Continue To 'Fight,' But Have An Uphill Battle Against Illini

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Terps, as a whole, suggested they were “close” after single-digit losses to Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin and a hard-fought two-overtime victory against Northwestern, but now it seems they’ve moving in the wrong direction. Maryland (9-9, 1-6 Big Ten) has turned in a pair of duds against Rutgers and Michigan, with the latest defeat in Ann Arbor, Mich., representing a new low-point for the program in 2021-22.
