Taking a look at Maryland's 66-17 loss to Ohio State Oct. 9:

Maryland’s Defense Can’t Contain C.J. Stroud

This was not the game to be short on defensive backs, but unfortunately for the Terps they were without Deonte Banks, Jakorian Bennett and Kenny Bennett, which are three of their top four corners. Thus, instead of operating in their typical press-man coverage, defensive coordinator Brian Stewart opted for a zone look to give the second-stringers a bit more margin for error.
