CB Byrd Transferring From Maryland

Maryland backup cornerback Erwin Byrd elected to transfer out of the program April 27. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound redshirt sophomore appeared in four total games for the Terps, mainly on special teams, tallying five tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.

Byrd was primarily a receiver before transitioning to defensive back his final year of high school. He came to Maryland rather raw and spent much of the last two seasons adjusting and honing his craft.
