Assistant Helow Leaves Maryland For Michigan

After just one year at Maryland, inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator George Helow is heading to Michigan to coach the Wolverines’ safeties.

The 34-year-old Jacksonville, Fla., native and Ole Miss alum helped lead one of the best units on UMD’s defense, which included leading tackler Chance Campbell; up-and-coming freshman Ruben Hyppolite; former Terp Ayinde Eley; and Fa’najae Gotay, all of whom had productive 2020 campaigns.
