Maryland was supposed to take on Nebraska prior to its rematch against Michigan Jan. 19, but thanks to COVID-19 the Huskers’ game was nixed and the Terps were forced to change course. Not wanting to go nine days without playing a game, especially after UMD knocked off Illinois in Champaign, Ill., they took on one of the only opponents available on 48 hours notice — Division II Wingate.
