Local LB Wheatland Pledges To Hometown Terps

Maryland landed its 10th commitment of the 2022 class June 16 when local middle linebacker Caleb Wheatland (Avalon/Gaithersburg, Md.) pledged to the hometown university. The 6-foot-1.5, 225-pound three-star earned a UMD offer June 3, visited College Park, Md., unofficially June 9, and then decided to opt in a week later.

“Maryland was just an amazing opportunity for me to play for the hometown school,” said Wheatland, who chose the Terps over Old Dominion and Liberty.
